Can you save your calories?

Is it possible to cut back today on calorie intake, to have more tommorow? Will it have a negative impact on weightloss
I'm not talking about doing this all the time, only to prepare for occasions?

Any opinion or advice on this will be valued

    I've eaten less the next day when I've eaten over my calories on the day before, and it hasn't effected my weight loss, so I suppose it can work the other way round too.

    Absolutely. Weekly intake is more important than daily, just be aware that you may see a small "gain" after the day of eating more due to water retention.

    Plenty of people look at their deficit over the course of the week rather than day-to-day. Work out how many calories you have for the week and divide them up how you please.

    One example here would be the 5:2 diet where 2 days per week only 500 cals will be eaten but on the other 5 days per week maintenance calories will be eaten.

    Weekly is definately the ticket. The fact that you are planning for these days shows you are truely committed to your program. Don't freak out if you complete your entry for a particular day, and it does not have the "Under Calorie Goal for the Day" in it. You are not doing this for anyone else but yourself. If I am going to have a bad day, I don't have many, I look at the week ending total. I usually fall about a full day of calories short by the time I get to end of week.

    I won't often go over my daily calories to be honest.. (normally only by 60-70)
    But it's nice to know that I can plan for an event that's happening in my life & it won't effect my healthy eating :)!!

    Alot of people myself including will save a few as a buffer zone for a particular day when we know we won't be able to log or log accuratley like a buffet or a night on the beers.
