Been maintaining, but can't change mindset!

I did a metabolism reset this summer, gaining a grand total of 15 lbs after all was said and done. Went from 135 to 150. I've been into heavy lifting regularly since August. I feel happy with how my body is changing.....I have gained quite a bit of muscle, but it seems like the fat has yet to shift. I'm eating 2200 calories a day currently. I just can't get the thought out that even though I seem to be gaining muscle, I'm still large. I'm only 5' 4" and now at 155 pounds. I'm trying to be patient and stay the course, maybe I can have one of those before and after with the same weight and completely different bodies.
I'm debating whether I want to try to go in at a cut again (first time I did cut I gained 5 lbs...then I slowly increased cals again and now I'm maintaining at a level higher than what I ate during my reset), get down to 140 or so and then try to build up the muscle....or continue where I'm at now and just focus on building the muscle and hope the rest starts to shift. It's just SO HARD because I've never been this big before! I can't get my mind away from that thought.
Anyone have similar stories to share? I can do this? I should cut?
