Heart Rate Monitor Suggestions

Hi everyone,
I am a 21 year old female, and a senior undergrad in college.
I am looking for ideas and suggestions on brands of heart rate monitors. I have been struggling lately in finding motivation to work out lately in my last year as a college student. I have been wishing for a HRM for a while.
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on brands they like or where they purchased theirs as well. I would prefer one that is less than 50 dollars if possible because as a college student I'm sure some of you can understand that I don't have the most funds at the moment.
I'd prefer a watch format and something like the Polar watches that track calories and time etc. (I'm not sure if this is a great brand or not, but I have seen a few of my friends using them!)
Any advice is much appreciated!

I have a Polar FT4 .. and love it. I think you can find them online cheaper than buying one at a store.
They are interesting things .. I don't regret buying mine.0 -
Whatever one you decide on check www.clevertraining.com to see what their cost is. There's a 10% discount partnership with dcrainmaker.com (dcr10xs), but you only get free shipping for orders over $75.
Personally I have the garmin series of hrm/gps watches.0 -

I'd for-go the heart rate monitor... they are notoriously inaccurate, especially for women. TDEE -10-20%, and don't track your exercise burn...0

I was thinking to get a new heart rate monitor. Does the strap not come with the FT4? It does require a strap yes?0

It comes with the chest strap. It works well. Unless you are really into running or cycling (Polar has more advanced models for these people), then it is probably good for most.0
