Old Me...I don't work tomorrow so.. After work I go home eat a fairly bad meal I am sure, head to the recliner snooze and wait for the Hockey game to start. Once the game starts, pour a couple of whiskey and diet cokes... and enjoy.

New Me.. I don't work tomorrow so... After work go home eat a healthy meal, go for an hour walk. Head to my recliner and start watching the hockey game... my problem I really really still want the whisky and diet cokes, but I really shouldn't, trying to be heather.

Anyone have any good "cold ones" substitute?
PS. I quit aspartame too.... *helpme

Nothing wrong with a Whiskey and Diet in moderation, IMHO. If you're off aspartame, try a diet soda with a different sweetener or maybe try club soda. Or, perhaps just do whiskey on the rocks, sipped slowly?

I think a glass or two of wine, on occasion is fine as well. I also enjoy a good stout or porter, and you can sip one and make it last, so much better than that light stuff, so it makes the extra calories worth is for me.

I just don't think there's a healthy "substitution" for a whiskey and diet, honestly.

Let me rephrase that a bit. I would love the whisky, but not going to do it. I would like something just as tasty to drink... all i can think of is..

    water - boring
    pop - not good
    juice... bllaaahhhhh
coffee - not great with a hockey game..

    I'm out, lost, confused.. help...

Straight Whiskey? :) It sounds like you are making some great changes for yourself - however you want them to be sustainable. Plan your day to include the Whiskey & Diet. Don't give up something you enjoy because you *think* it's the right thing to do. I'd never give up my vodka.

Edited - Disregard my post, you posted right before I got this out.

Oh i'm not giving it up... my Saturday nights NEED whiskey to be included... :-) It just sounds so good for tonight, but trying to tell myself I don't want it and can find something else that satisfies.
