Post keto weight gain?

Hello everyone!

I have been doing a silly VLCD programme as some of you will already know, and have recently, following doctor's advice, started incorporating food into my diet.

What can I expect? I know there will be an initial weight gain but how long will it take for my body to adjust so I can eat below my 1800 or so recommended cals and still lost at about 1-2lb a week? Any advice? :)

Looking forward to HOPEFULLY losing the rest of my weight steadily and healthily.

The best thing to do would be to add back carbs slowly. The slower you add them the better off your body will adjust.

I went on hiatus a few months back and added carbs back in. But did it really quickly. Went from netting 7-15 carbs to netting 100 carbs in a few days. Went through something similar to dumping syndrome (my colon didn't appreciate the carbs), my stomach hurt like crazy, i hate an incredible headache and I was incredibly lethargic for days. It was awful.

The initial weight gain will be minimal. Primarily water retention. So, just make sure you're still drinking plenty of fluids and continuing your daily workout and you'll do just fine :)
