Hey, I'm Liz and just starting on my weight loss and tone up journey. I'm 5' tall and currently 10st 6 wearing a size 12-14 and hoping to get down to around 8st 2 wearing size 8-10 which is what I was 2yrs ago before my dad became ill and passed away. Joined a gym but I've not found anything I really enjoy exercise wise apart from horse riding but that's no longer an option, and I don't fancy being outside in the cold and wet lol. I'd like some friends on here so we can support and motivate each other so please feel free to add me :)

Thank you, it's coming up to the 2nd anniversary of his death and I'm hoping I won't fall off the wagon comfort eating and drinking

Don't even let the THOUGHT of falling off the wagon enter your head :-) I'm sure your dad would be the first to say that he all he wants for you is that you are fit and healthy and living the best and longest life that you can - even if he can't be with you... Keep yourself busy that day, maybe find friends or famly to reminisce with if that would help you best, or go for a long walk and have a chat with him about everything that has been going on.

As far as the gym goes, I'm with you on the chore part which is why I do group classes and don't try and just turn up for a workout (just NOT going to happen - I struggle for motivation when I am by myself). Definitely work your way through the classes and see what you like best - hopefully they have stuff like Zuma, Yoga, Pilates and Boxing as well as the usual Pump, Step and Abs class so that you can mix it up every week, instead of doing the same stuff every day. You should definitely try an aqua aerobics type class - there is something about being in the water (as long as it's well heated!) that makes it so much more fun :-) You could look into different types of dance, and maybe even talk a buddy into doing some of this stuff with you (so much more fun doing it with someone else) or just make a new friend at one of the classes that can keep you motivated.

Good on you for still going, even though it isn't fun yet! Takes a while to make a habit, and once you start seeing results, that'll help too. I'm about to join a gym on a month's trial so we'll be doing this together - albeit from different sides of the world haha

Good luck, hang in there, and feel free to add me if you'd like a random girl from New Zealand on your friends list :-)

Just find something you think you might enjoy doing @ the gym. I enjoy being on the treadmill, being around others during my challenging workouts with HIIT, but that may not work for you, & that's ok. Starting today (not tomorrow) to make these healthy decisions are key. You can do this with sweat, diet, & commitment. <3

Add me if you'd like. :)

Hi there really sorry to hear about your dad!
Keep working hard, Ive been really overweight most of my life and find exercise so boring and difficult but I can honestly say Jillian Michaels dvds worked so well for me, a lot of them are HIIT, they are much harder than any other dvds Ive ever done and Ive lost the weight twice as fast as when I was killing myself in the gym all the time. Also they change it up if you get bored!

Feel free to add me guys :D

Hi I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad when I was just 8. I'm mad about horses too, I have a 10 year old cob called Trigger. I'm trying to loose the pounds to make him feel more comfortable when we go riding. He may be a weight carrier, but I don't think he should carry anything more than necessary. I'm also getting married in April, I'm currently a size 14 and would like to be a 10/12.

Try to find some exercise you enjoy, you don't have to go to the gym. I walk my dog for about an hour each day, swim when I can and ride my horse.

Feel free to add me xx

Hi Liz, I'm Lynn and am looking to get my body back as well! It's been a really rough year healthwise and two surgeries, steroids, and surgically induced menopause have really knocked me for six! As I'm turning 41 in a couple of weeks I figure it's not going to get any easier in the future so I may as well face into it now.

I've done a fair bit of walking this week, and have just bought a treadmill as I know that once I'm back at work there is no way I'm going out to walk in the cold and the rain after 12 hours out of the house already.

For now walking and gentle swimming is as much as I can do, but hopefully once all my stitches have gone I'll be able to do more. There is a treadmill version of C25K which looks worth a go - I can already walk the 5K so will work on being able to run it.

Feel free to add me :D
