Just finished Damned If You Do by Robert B Parker and it was very good. His character Jessie Stone is a throwback to yesteryear! What have you read lately?

I only read the first in that series.

JR Ward has a good series out.

I've been reading all of Camilla Lackberg's books; she writes great mysteries. I read one of her books and am now going back and reading all of them in order as the personal relationships build on each other. I love Robert B. Parker as well.

Reconstructing Amelia was very good, and I just started A Constellation of Vital Phenomena this morning. I am a book slut. I go to bed with a different one almost every night ;)

Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid (succubus) series is good for Vampire Smut.

The Count of Monte Christo was the best book I've ever read. Wanting to get into some more classics.

George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones series is awesome but a difficult read. 1/3 of the way through second book. I may just watch the HBO series and give up at this point.

Looking for other suggestions as well
  • Matthew Reilly books 'ice station' and 'area 7'. These books are great, really fast paced actions that read like movies.

Been reading everything Mary Higgins Clark thanks to a killer deal at a yard sale. Also listening to the Hunger Games series when I'm working.

I have just been listening (I drive a ton to work and back) to some of the Jesse Stone series. I don't like him as much as the Jack Reacher series but he's OK. So far I have read, Death in Paradise, Stranger in Paradise, Stone Cold and I am almost through Night & Day.

You're right he is a throwback and I am not a fan of his drinking but it fits his character. Have you read any of Lee Child's books?

Currently reading No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy. I'll probably continue with the Dark Tower series next. I think I'm on Wizard and Glass. I haven't read anything new in a while. I do want to read the new Andre Dubus III. He is amazing.

Speaking of GoodReads - are you all aware of that website? Excellent place to keep track of the books you're reading and ones you want to read in the future. My To Read list is ridiculously long!

I'm currently reading All The Blue Eyed Angels by Jen Blood (1st in the Erin Solomon series). Pretty good read so far!

LIke NCServant, I've got a long commute so I also listen to audiobooks and my current one is Duma Key by Stephen King. I've read the book before but was between audiobook requests from the library so figured I'd pick it up for a good Halloween time "read".

The audiobook before that was This World We Live In by Susan Beth Pfeffer, the 3rd book in the Last Survivors series. It's a YA post-apocolyptic series that's pretty interesting.
