VSG surgery anxiety

I am having VSG surgery on the 30th and starting to get anxious about it. I know it is a positive move I need to do but some of the things I have read about the intense pain etc are scary. Hopefully not everyone has such a difficult time. Any advice at this point would be great. Thanks
