Explain Purpose of Jawbone

I was just wondering is someone could quickly explain to me the benefits of using the Jawbone UP?? I read up all the little extra things it does compared to a Polar HRM. I am just curious what more would it do for me?? The big reason I liked it is because I play alot of basketball and I find my HRM strap slides around alot because of the physical play and wearing a watch makes it hard to shoot. So, I thought this lighter braclet would help me out counting my cals during basketball games. I read someone elses post that the jawbone is not good at accurately measuring cals burned during workouts..... Is this true and if it is what is their purpose. Thanks in advance.
