Pinup/Boudoir photos

I decided that when I get near or reach my goal weight I want to do a pinup or boudoir photoshoot. I have also worn braces for over five yeas and I am getting them off next week so this will kinda be like a total makeover for me. I have never been photogenic but I am really excited to step out of my comfort zone and do something I have always dreamed of. I have seen lots of pics online and there are women of all shapes and sizes, all with gorgeous photos.

Have any of you ladies done one? Did you wait until you reached your goal weight? How did the pics turn out?

Feel free to post pics.....ideas are always great

Pretty sure these won't fly in the forums no matter how tastefully done.

Some people have issues with the human body being shown.

I for one think every woman should do it for themselves.

I think done right those kinds of photos are beautiful! I have considered it too. I actually considered it about a year ago, when I was 262 lb and a size 22. Now I'm 214 lb and size 16/18 and actually feel LESS sure of myself...not in clothing or in my daily life, but when it comes to boudoir/pinup style photos. I feel like I need to be thinner, whereas before I was kind of exploding with curves and looked good for "that type" but now I've started (STARTED) to become a different figure type and right now I just look a bit awkward.

My husband loves my body but I want to feel like it's photo ready. Not perfect! That will never happen. But I have the BEGINNINGS of a nice longer leaner silhouette and I'm becoming more hourglass-shaped. I want to see where it leads and maybe will do this around size 12 or 14.
  • I'd love to do a boudoir shoot! I have several photographer friends that have done them and they turn out beautifully. Once I'm back to feeling more confident about my body...I'm definitely doing it! You should too!

I've done it and I was heavier than I am now. Actually wasn't looking to do this but I was just helping out a photographer friend of mine who needed models (and I use that term loosely lol). They came out great and I gave them to my husband as a gift. I want to do another photo shoot when I feel more confident about the way I look.

Totally do it - don't wait. It will actually give you confidence to keep going. And it's so fun!

I did these for my husband before I had my last 3 kids  It was very fun, I was comfortable with the photographer and his wife was there helping. I brought things like a few of my husband's guitars, his work shirt, etc, to pose with/in. He has an 8x10 up on the wall in his garage.

I won't post them here though, LOL. I think it's a great idea to do now or when you reach your goal!

I am a professional photographer and take them. They are a great idea to celebrate yourself. Just be very choosy about who you have do them.

Good for you! If you want to get them done, go for it! Personally I don't understand the intrigue. Why give your man pics when he can have the real thing? ;P

I haven't done one yet, but I'm planning on a pin-up style boudoir photoshoot when I reach my goal weight! Pinterest has a ton of great concepts and ideas for this sort of thing. ;)

I'd be more tempted to do a glamour/fitness photo. Way sexier.

I did a photo shoot for pin up in Vegas in April when I was only 50 pounds lighter then when I started it and it felt great. I'm doing it again next month after losing 91 pounds. You will look great and its so FUN!
  • Thanks for all the input!! I have a friend who had just started doing some phoyogtaphy so I might go that route. There are a few photographers in my area so I will make sure to do my homework first. I don't want some creeper taking my pics lol!!

Just make sure you know what the photographer intends to do with the processed images, the RAW file s/he didn't process and who owns the images and the copyrights.

Boudoir is the only subcategory of services I offer that my client actually owns their images (all the rest, they have print rights but nothing else). Meaning I cannot use them to advertize. I delete RAW files at an agreed upon time that is MUCH sooner than say weddings (usually within a week), in the event that my computer is stolen. I also do not store processed images on my computer, but a reserve digital server, again in case my computer is stolen.
