My reason too, plus I had to get serious about dropping the 4th baby weight.

I'd heard good things about the site and since I'm trying to lose just under half of myself before going to a convention in July 2014, I figured that I can use all the help I can get! :)

I bought a scale.... no really, I had not owned a scale in about 2 years, but when I felt like I was putting on weight I went out and bought one. That had me starting a healthier routine to lose weight. During that process I started googleing calories in the foods I ate and the MFP site popped up. It was love at first log-in

I stay here for the continued tracking and weight loss. And the awesome friends I have made and shameless flirtations I partake in make it so much fun!

A scale is like a toilet plunger. Every home has one, whether you use it or not.

Yep. I came to lose a few pounds, track food and exercise. I was on here for two years before I discovered the message boards.

Love the flirting and snark. My friends keep me entertained, both through their funny posts, hot pics and sincere encouragement.

A toilet plunger is the first thing you should buy when you get a place. You don't want to need a plunger and not have one!

The ticker! I don't know why, but I just love seeing a simple visual of progress. The ticker's why I came, but I stay for the socializing. So many kind, wonderful, motivated people here.

I was posting/venting on a parenting board about how I can't lose any weight no matter what I do...woe is me type of thing. A few people suggested MFP and the rest is history!

Needing the socialization of those wanting to be healthy. I had already lost weight, but I needed motivation and support for furthering my goals.. In addition, I've been a personal trainer almost 10 years, but haven't trained regularly in about 4 years and I was missing the ability to motivate others..

My sister recruited me for support. I liked it so I decided to lose a few extra pounds I didn't need and then stayed on for maintenance because it's easy and it works! :drinker:

My husband told me about it after I became very frustrated trying to keep track of everything. I makes taking care of yourself a lot easier. I track everything!

I am here for the motivation...I need others to keep me motivated and keep me going. I love seeing others' workouts and how hard they word. That keeps me motivated and I like being accountable to others.

Came for weight loss - and an easy tracker for food/exercise. I don't get too involved in the message boards but sometimes take a look around.

Love to flirt - open to suggestions to get the last 10 off and then start into more toning/muscle definition. I work shifts so it's next to impossible to find the motivation to get moving after a shift - HOWEVER - Just finished a 13 hour shift and did a 35 minute run.....so sometimes "the first step is the hardest"

I came here for the same reason most did, to lose weight, but mine was in preparation for what was termed "brain surgery" even though my brain was not being operated on, only my skull. Had an infection in it that was slow growing and they wanted to cut it out. They planned the surgery for September, so I had from January till then to lose weight. Went from 205 to 135 in that time. I stay now because after the surgery I vowed to never be the same "fat" guy again. I also love the forums and advice. The people here are very entertaining and even though I only have a few friends, I cherish every one of them. I like getting and giving advice as it helps me stay on track. I really love the humor here as well!
