Hey awesome people how are you? So....I keep taking advantage of lunch hour which is like 2-3ish or later to walk in the cold sunshine cause I can't cope with how freezing it is (so once it's dark no motivation more shivery thoughts)
So I'm not excersing as much but most of all not eating lunch on time. And my meal schedule is healthy substantial lunch and dinner imperative hypoglycemia bedtime snack nauteous light breakfast never hungry really.
So the problemooooh is that by the time I actually eat lunch I'm ravenous and have been eating too much I'm concerned. I try to always wait till I'm hungry to eat so dinner gets very late.
I weighed myself and scale was definitely up again not highest since stopped loosing went opposite but top of the range. It could be salt? I don't know 4 pounds? Mostly I think I must be eating too much or not have figured out the right timing.
If I didn't do the lunch walk thing and ate before I felt hunger so strong(maybe I always wait too long?) I don't have access to a gym and think I'd be too tired to be motivated when I get home which is late post dinner and then some. I'm totally motivated when its wam but cold yikes yeah.
I don't think I could force more breakfast really especially cause I can't skip evening snack for hypoglycemia but I could try doing that late skipping lunch eating dinner earlier but given celiac disease plus other allergies there isn't a lot of breakfast foods I can readily choose from and I do a yogurt meal at night.
So I'm perplexed how to do a better job at this loosing weight thing and get back on track as I was perhaps when it was warmer. Or something was different! Any and all suggestions feedback insight would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you so much for reading!!

1.) Meal timing doesn't matter. I eat light during the day so I can eat a huge dinner.
2.) How many calories are you eating?
3.) Things that can make the scale go up: Water, salt, increase in exercise (I know this isn't applicable here but just FYI), TOM0 -
That was a really long story that offered no information of importance. Age, height, weight, calories, BMR, TDEE, etc? Meal timing is irrelevant so forget that issue.0

Can you get up early and work out then instead of interfering with eating lunch? There are lots of free workouts online and apps for smart phones. Personally I get dressed in layers including my reflective vest and grab my flashlight and walk in the morning. I also take a water aerobics class at the local high school pool 2X a week in the evening. Once it starts snowing my road won't be safe to walk anymore so I will probably be doing some workout apps I found. Getting your eating under control is really most important especially with hypoglycemia.
I like cottage cheese with fruit or berries at breakfast or cream of rice or oatmeal or grits with chia seeds thrown in for extra protein and fiber. Good luck finding your balance.0 -
Thanks guys!
I'm kind of broke so I don't have proper warm stuff equipment. Also bad insomnia so early morning hours often only time I get much needed deep sleep.
The meals I get are kind of a donation/generous gift from some people I know at a sushi restaurant but its different every time depending on what they feel like making.
I can open my journal you can see. Please let me know if that would help and will do normally just for friends so you'd be welcome to add me as a friend.
I think I know I'm not weighing and measuring anything (most important to be gracious and thankful for their generosity and not possible socially I eat there) so do my best to eyeball it...0 -

You are still eating so few calories total. How tall are you, btw?
I think your thyroid medication will help a lot. When will you start taking that; do you know yet? I really wouldn't worry about gaining weight at this point, and just try to eat healthily and don't cut back any. You eat so few calories that you need all the nutrients you can get.
I really think it's your hypothyroidism that is causing the weight gain. The weight gain might also be healthy! I don't know how much you weighIf you've always been very slim, it might be just fine to be a little heavier because you need the nutrients.

To people saying meal timing doesn't matter - normally I would agree but OP mentioned she has hypoglycaemia so I think that throws a wrench in it all.. I would split your lunch - have some of it before your walk just to stave off hunger and finish after your walk. Also there's no reason your breakfast has to consist of "breakfast food". You can eat anything you want for breakfast!0

Thank you!!
The dinner was way more generous I ate it all late but will still do my snack.
Taking leftovers home isn't a possibility and I never know portions in advance.
I'm full but maybe I was always slightly too hungry my stomach shrank before? I have never been very conscious of my appetite but if I don't nuture with healthy meals regardless at a certain point at night my body just subconsciously is like feeeeed me!! And them i have binged on random stuff in the house cause I don't have buy a lot mostly my carefully planned snacks which are not meals (plai Greek yogurt berries) and are too sugary to suffice nourish sometimes dark chocolate frozen veggies just not what body needs when like that. That feels terrible hurts stomach interferes with sleep cost too much cause I live on Foodstamps
and have to want to make the most of this imperfect but wonderfully nourishing way to procure meals.
Yes I need to loos 10-15 and was totally on my way but had a workable kitchen and was eating much smaller portions of protein which lately my body or consciously I though would help sustain blood sugar mental function for long important periods of time, and with this big meal method I am able to save $ time on going home preparing a snack which I'm not even hungry for in the afternoons these days.
Do you mean low thyroid is making me superficially hungry? Should I consciously eat less? If you lookin my journal I ate a bunch more fish for dinner I probably am eating a large quantity of protein fish per day but that's part of the two meal opportunity. I also eat lots of the salty pickled ginger I love that stuff!! Hence questions about water weight....
Do you think having my thyroid less under active will increase weightloss without eating less? Do you think I should cut back/rearrange do something differrently until then or permanently? How long might the Synthroid take to reach efficacy in my body?
Wow you guys are tremendously phenomenally helpful! Mountains of gratitude and all due respect!!
I'd be happy to be friends and support you in any way helpful on your individual health journeys yes0 -
Your total calories are still under 900, sweetie. Do not cut back on calories! You are bound to be hungry.
The Synthroid should help with the weight gain while eating many more calories than you are eating now. You won't have to cut calories back, no. It will work that out. So eat and don't feel bad about the hunger! Anyone would be hungry
I don't know how long it takes the medication to stabilize, but it will make a difference. Your low thyroid hormones are why you can gain weight on so very little food. I promiseIt can't be your diet. You eat very little!

Bless you; I feel sooooo much less self doubt!
I do probably eat more than I track they are very generous and I never owned felt I could purchase weighing measuring stuff even if my meals weren't in public. I guess it's the feelings of full that make me have second thoughts recrimination.
Is that normal? What does it feel like to people who are more in touch with hunger/satiation to be both?
If I could wait till less hungry to eat in the first place that might help a lot but I'm dedicated to excercise the walking it does help mood and sleep. Also FYI when I overeat the foods I mentioned at night I often given up on tracking to not beat myself up, amd encourage myself to get back on track instead of waiting most of the day to experience hunger then having the same problems again. It only happens binging if I missa meal. Do you think my strategy is ok not a problem?
Thank you soooooo much no words suffice to express gratitude for your generosity in writing and sharing so much wonderful information.0 -
You're welcome
I think you should try to eat more earlier in the day and in the middle of the day. That should help the hunger at night much better. It might take a few days to notice, but it will probably help a lot.
