Weight Lifting Routine

Hey guys, so I started heavy lifting back in July, following the SL 5x5 program. I really do enjoy it, although I'm not upping my weight nearly as fast as the instructions tell me to (I like to take it slow). I've added some stuff in that I like and took out exercises that were hard on my elbow (overhead barbell press and barbell row). Does this look ok? I do it three times per week

Squats 5x5 (add 5lbs more each week)
Assisted pull-ups 5x2 (10lbs less each week)
Deadlifts 1x5
60 hanging leg raises
Chest press 5x5 (add 5lbs more each week)
60 lower back extensions (whatever they're called)

There really isn't any reason to take it slow since as a beginner in strength training you should expect to improve quickly for at least a few months, maybe longer.

In my opinion your program looks good although the two exercises you deleted would help you imrove faster if you could do them without injuring yourself.

If you are serious about strength training I recommend you read these two books by Mark Riippetoe, Starting Strength and Practical Programming. These will give you the practical knowledge to keep improving for several years.
