Hello,

I start this week on exercise everyday (or most everyday) and i'm at moment doing Leslie Sansone's DVD.
I would like to ask if i can use sandglove doing exercise, or/and weight in legs to increase the weight loss in the exercise routine.
If isn't good for hear the sandgloves, or isn't good to use weight in legs because it will put more weight in the feet?

I would like to know your opinion.

Thank you.

I;ve done her WAWTP videos many times. I would just stay where you are for now, no weights. I was told years ago that walking with ankle and hand weights is bad for the joints. So if i am already stressing my joints with my body weight adding more would do damage.

Maybe you could get a weighted vest that way the weight is distributed over the body. It would increase your calorie burn but not put undue stress on any particular joint.

    Just keep moving.

It will increase your risk for injury while giving you negligible benefit in return

You don't really need to add more weight. Your body weight is enough for you joints to handle to start with. As you lose weight and get more fit you could add hand weights but never put ankle weights on for anything that requires walking or running. It can do a lot of injury to your knees and hips.

If you really think about it, how much difference is adding a couple of pounds while you walk?

Weight loss is a result of taking in less calories than your body needs to maintain weight...nothing more, nothing less. It has nothing to do with what kind of DVD you're doing or exercise or if you have weight around your ankles and wrists. MFP's calorie goal has a built in deficit for weight loss and assumes NO exercise...in other words, while I encourage you to exercise, do it for fitness...your nutritional goal is already a deficit of calories from maintenance for weight loss and you would lose weight just eating to that goal without any exercise whatsoever.

Get your diet dialed in and then determine an exercise routine. Diet (calorie control) for weight loss. Exercise for fitness.
