Ýou can't obsess about calories all the time!'

That's coming from my mom. Sigh. She always said I was too fat, now she thinks I look great, she's so happy for me, but I shouldn't lose more weight (I still have a fat belt in my midsection) and that I need to stop obsessing about calories by counting everything, that I can't leave like that etc etc...
Am I the only one with such 'supportive' family members? I'm sorta glad I only see her every 6 months...

I'm thinking she's attempting to be supportive of your health, and show concern for you. Try not to let it bother you.
Keep doing what you're doing if its working for you.0 -
As long as you remain within your healthy BMI zone, you should just thank her for the advice and continue doing your own thing.0

She may be trying to tell you to relax a bit and that it is ok to not count for a day here and there.0

Yes. I hear this and it drives me bonkers because I still have 35lbs. to lose. I get that to certain people I probably do look great, but to me I just want to get to a healthier range and feel good. I feel pretty good now, but I know I need to keep going. I just say thanks for thinking I look so good! Smile, maybe hug, whatever to interrupt the 'rant' and then go on doing what you're doing. If she or they notice the tracking again, just smile and say, "Oh, just wanted to check this in case I have it again later." And then change the subject. Do what ya gotta do for you to get to healthy.0 -
I think some people actually believe this. They see you've lost the weight and think you're "done" so you can stop all this calorie counting and such. But YOU know you aren't done. THEY just don't get it.0
