Hi everyone,

Today starts the 1st day of yet another journey for me. I have tried every possible diet plan, diet pill, diet drink invented! One thing I have never been good at is tracking my food intake. I am currently taking college classes online, so I figured since I am on the computer a lot anyways, maybe this will help me keep track of what I eat. I know that plays a huge part in dieting successfully. So....here goes nothin'!
I am a mother of 3- a girl who's 14 and thinks she's 25 (or wishes), and two boys- 10 & 8. Those two keep me on my toes on a daily basis! I always say God grant strength to any woman who has more than 1 boy....she's gonna need it!! I have been married for 15 years as of June (yay!), and my husband has been in the Army for 14 years. He has just over 5 years until he retires, we're hoping by that time I will have accomplished my school goals and obtained my bachelor's degree in nursing. He is looking forward to being a "kept man" and he certainly deserves the time off!
So.....................here's to all of us...................I wish you all luck in your weight loss endevours!!

Welcome to MFP! I myself am a Marine wife. I am sure you will do great here just remember to log everything, try to stay within your caloires and get a little exercise in. If you fall off the wagon don't beat yourself up just pick up where you left off. Good Luck.

Welcome and thanks to your husband and your family for your service to your fine nation!

I too have tired everything I could and nothing worked, but this works, mainly because it is NOT a diet, it is a lifestyle change.

I have a fair way to go yet, my goal is to go from 300lbs to 185lbs, that is 115 lbs in total, I've lost 30 lbs now, so I'm at 26% of my goal, and I'm feeling better everyday! To be honest, I'm having trouble eating all of my calories, I have to make sure I do, I eat 1910 calories a day, I don't eat my exercise calories, before I had that down to 1500 calories and I was NOT losing weight, I was stuck for about 10 days, since I went up to 1910 calories, I am again on a downward journey!

The people here are very supportive and helpful too!

    Cheers!

HELLO! I WORK FOR THE VA! THANK YOUR HUSBAND FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY! AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HIS NUMBER ONE SUPPORTER!!! hehe :) anyways, would love to befriend you! my name is Katherine :)
  • Hello!! I am also new to this and it is something. I have just been on for two full days and am already starting to see that I may have been consuming more than twice the recommended amount on a daily basis. This first couple of days have been hard as I feel like I am hungry all the time, but yesterday wasn't too bad and I stayed within my limit. I think it is really important that we be kind to ourselves and not beat ourselves up for our imperfections or mistakes. Good luck to you! I praise God for your husband for being on the front lines fighting for my freedom, and thank you for loving and supporting him while he does it....may God bless you and keep you~ Kibra

    Hey everyone!

I just wanted to thank all who responded to my intro & welcomed me to MFP. It really makes a girl feel welcome!
I also want to thank those who offered their appreciation to my husband for his service in the Army, it always feels more meaningful to make the sacrifices we do when others acknowledge it.....so, THANK YOU!

I have only just begun (day 2 so far), but I am already finding myself anxious to get my food & exercise added every time I eat and every time I work out. Which is weird, I never EVER wanted to journalize my food intake before! I know it's only day 2, but so far, I am LOVING MFP!!! I look forward to it as a part of my everyday life. I have felt more hopeful and confident since joining than I have in YEARS!
Thank you all for your inspiring words and sharing a bit of yourselves with me, I truly appreciate it! Good luck to you all!!:flowerforyou:
