Spreading calories over the day

Hi there! I have finished logging my calories, and noticed that if I get to the evening I am short of calories. So my dinner is normally bigger than the other meals to make up for this.

Isn't it better to have a light dinner and rather more calories for breakfast, or is it ok if you stick with the amount of calories for daily intake?

Doesn't matter for timing of calories. You could eat them all before bed if you wish, and will get the same results.

I think the reason why eating late gets a bad rap is that some people eat most of their cals during the day, so eat late puts them over, so it has to do with total intake, not the timing of the intake

Agree with previous poster, times do not matter.
I sometimes skip meals to get a bigger meal in during the day  As long as you are hitting your daily calorie goals it doesnt matter what time the meals happen.

What the 2 previous have said. I eat 2 meals / day and fit roughly 2600 calories in an 8 hour window.

It all depends on how your schedule is. For example, I have oatmeal for breakfast to fill me up enough but not too much and to give me enough energy via carbs because my first class in the morning is swimming for an hour followed by an hour of step aerobics. Since my P90X workout tends to fit in right before lunch, my lunch tends to be the biggest meal of the day for me. But for others dinner is bigger or whatever. It doesn't matter-whatever works for you so long as you stay within your calories and din't let yourself go hungry.
