Puffy ankles after running or walking?

So I'm drinking plenty of fluids - I've had an ileostomy for five years so monitor my hydration and electrolyte levels very closely anyway. What I have noticed is that after running, jogging, or walking, my ankles swell up.
My blood pressure is fine, the only recent change is pelvic surgery which I guess could affect lymphatic return.
Any suggestions as to how to get this puffiness to go down, other than the usual measures of elevation?
