Straightening Legs

Hi,

I've been losing weight and trying to tone up lots of areas of my body but particularly my abs.

Lots of exercises say "straighten leg" or "put leg up straight"... But i can't. Mine won't go straight unless i'm standing. I also can't touch my toes without bending my knees.. Can barely get close!

Has anyone else this/can recommend stretches i can do to increase the flexibility in my legs.

Thanks :)

I am not that flexible either. I straighten my legs until I feel my lower abs work harder, I think that's what they are aiming for.

Yoga is great for increasing your flexibilty. I do some yoga every week just to maintain my flexibility.

If you can't touch your toes.....use a strap. Sitting on the floor....loop a belt (or strap) around both of your feet. Then pull the belt toward you (one end in each hand) ......while slowly bending forward. That way you get a nice stretch without having to touch your toes. You can measure your progress by "choking" up on strap as you become more flexible.
