Activity Tracker Help

ok Guys and Gals- I am ready to purchase an activity tracker and am looking for some help. I have read the reviews and feel that these choices will all be good choices, I am looking for the best choice for me.

The three I have narrowed it down to are:

Fitbit family (Flex or One), Basis, and Polar Loop.

Fitbit- Pros- Price, Ease of use, uploading ability to MFP
Cons- I dont believe it can sync to a HRM- Is this correct?

Basis- Pro- HRM built into "watch".
Con- Cost, cannot upload to MFP

Polar Loop- Pros- Can add a HRM with Smart Bluetooth capabilities (limited options), seems to be a great product
Cons, Cost, abiltity to sync is limited by Smart Bluetooth; my phone is "dumb", cant upload directly to MFP, New product line for Polar

So this is where I am at. HRM data is important to me but it isnt a total deal breaker. Looking for input!

Thanks

I have a Fitbit One and I love it.
Since I first got it in August it's really motivated me to move more, it's easy to wear, seems quite robust and the interface is easy to use. Before I got mine I was a bit put off by the negative reviews on Amazon, particularly that they are easy to lose, but I haven't had any problems with the belt clip coming off (but I clip it into a pocket just in case) or it falling out of the wristband at night. It doesn't monitor your heart rate though, so if you want a really accurate assessment of your calorie burn you'll need a HRM with a chest strap but for simple "how far" stuff the Fitbit is great.
    Hope that helps:smile:

I just purchased the polar loop and have used it for just under a week. I was debating between the nike fuel band till I saw the loop advertised. I also owned previously a polar F6 which has treated me well. The selling feature for me was that it measured calories /steps / and was waterproof. What is nike fuel measurement anyways? I can't relate to that!.I love to spend time in the pool doing aquafitness and swimming. The price was a little cheaper than the nike or the fitbit also and I liked the fact that would also add HR to band using a smart Bluetooth. My phone isn't compatible with Polar sync ( before iPhone 4s) so am not looking to do that and am quite ok with syncing it directly to computer . Have been doing it daily just to see what it looks like.

Good luck with your choice !

You might want to look into the Withings Pulse. It does a spot HR measurement on top of the stuff the other monitors do. I don't think it's useful for calorie estimating but it might be fun to check your RHR first thing in the morning. It's basically a Fitbit One but with the HR thingy in place of vibration alarms. It synchs to MFP, I believe.

I like the Fitbit One. It doesn't take HR into account but I'm mostly a walker/steps-type exerciser so it's plenty for me.

Have you thought about the Bodymedia. If you do a search for all these products you will find hundreds of posts with lots of information.
