HRM app vs MFP estimates

Today I tried out the Instant Heart Rate app. I know it won't be as accurate as a proper heart rate monitor but I was wondering which would be more accurate for calorie burn, the app or MFP's database.
I ask because, the HRM app is saying I'm burning more calories than MFP is so I'd love to input those calorie figures, but I want to be accurate and not cheat myself.
Any ideas?

I have An HRM with chest strap. MFP is sometimes more than double what the HRM reads. I never use MFP numbers!0
