Does losing weight motivate you?

I know when I was first losing weight, every pound shed just encouraged me to keep it up. But now that I've hit my goal and have been maintaining, I notice whenever I lose a pound, ill allow myself to snack a little more. Kinda of defies the purpose, I know! And then ill gain weight from a few day of that, gain a pound, et upset and get strict again, lose a pound, and the cycle repeats itself. Have I become a yoyo dieter?! Just wondering if anybody else does this!

Losing weight is a BIG motivator of mine. Im really scared now that Im in maintenance cause I don't have that losing aspect anymore. You can eat more now that your maintaining, just don't overdue it. Just remember "Nothing taste as good as skinny feels"

I don't necessarily think that a pound or two gain and then loss by itself qualifies as yo-yo dieting because that pound could be muscle water retention or a host of other things. This thread explains why people gain when they start maintenance mode:

To me, though, the key issue is actually letting go of the "must lose or stay the same weight" mentality. It's a challenge. In fact if I want to proceed with my own fitness goals it's going to actually require some weight gain. I am not there yet in terms of being comfortable with it (but slowly coming around to it).
