Calorie Counts on Equipment, Accuracy????

When using a treadmill, exercise bike, elliptical and so on, how accurate does everyone feel they are? I always enter my age and weight as it's supposed to give more accurate results. Is there a better method to track the calories?

Height, weight, age, gender, and exertion level are some of the factors for calorie burns. The more data you plug into the machine, the closer it will be.

Heart rate monitors (with chest straps) compare your resting heart rate against your heart rate while exercising...this is supposed to approximate the exertion level. Wrist only HRMs only use occasional heart rate measures (not as likely to be accruate). HRMs are designed to measure CARDIO workouts.....strength training....not good.

I like my Polar Ft4 .....it seems accurate. Out of shape me burned more calories than I do now.
