Need some motivation....went from 10 pounds to lose to 25!

I'm Amber. I'm not new to trying to lose weight. I've just been out of the game for a while.

I remember when I thought only needing to lose 10 pounds was hard (I'm 4'10)....now I have 25 and I'm a little overwhelmed. Its the first time I've needed to lose this much weight. I've let myself creep up to this by making lots of excuses, making poor food choices and saying "I'll start tomorrow" a lot. I've kind of mapped me out a time line on how long it will take if I lost 1 pound a week (which may not be realistic, but I can hope) - It's going to be a long journey....no more excuses!

Anyone else in the same boat? Want to be friends and help support each other?

    Amber,
You can definitely do it. Six years ago I lost 30 lbs by eating better and exercising. Unfortunately I gained it all back plus some once I had a child. My son is now 4 1/2 and I realized that I could no longer blame my weight on having a child. Once I hit the 199 lb mark on the scale it hit me that it was time to stop making excuses so I began searching online for free weight loss help and found myfitnesspal. After counting calories for a few days I gave up. Two months later I decided to try it again and refused to give up no matter how hard I found it to be. I started off small by saying that I will at least commit to it for two weeks and if I didn't notice any weight loss during that time I would stop. Once the two week mark came and I noticed that I lost at least five pounds I had the motivation I needed to keep going. The hardest part of it all seems to be changing the way you think. If you can change your thoughts then you can begin to change your behavior. Just keep in mind that you owe this to yourself. What I like about this program is that you can still eat regular food and lose weight...you just have to have it in moderation. Counting calories really does work. Good luck with your weight loss journey!!

    Hi Amber,
Yes having a good amount of weight to lose can be very intimidating. I too have about 60 pounds I want to get rid of. Just try to stay on track and motivated. I just came back to My fitness pal to try and motivate again. I find that the journaling and such keeps me on track the best.:) Good luck and add me to your friends if you'd like and I can try to keep you motivated:)
