Activity trackers

I recently purchased a Jawbone UP to track my steps and such. Just wondering should I still be entering any activity other than walking? Not exactly sure if I am suppose to still log exercise or if the UP adjustment is all I should count. Thanks!

    I have a fitbit flex and I only track exercises that are hard to track such as weight lifting or cycling, stair climber. I find it does a good enough job of any walking, running hiking etc.

    for the fit bit I can track running walking etc and as long as I'm accurate on the time the activity started and ended fit bit and MFP will "talk" and reconcile the info and not double count.

    I have a Fitbit and the only exercises I enter are things like cycling that don't involve a walking/running type movement. Otherwise I just let it do it's thing.

    I have an UP which is synced to MFP. I don't log anything, I let the app do it for me. The thing is, it will only sync after you exceed your BMR so you have to really get moving to net any excercise. It's a struggle some days, but it motivates me. My goal is 10,000 steps a day but I actually average 4,000-7,000 unless I do some cadio or strength training. Good luck to you!

    great thanks! That's what I've been doing, it definitely gets me wanting to move more to get past my 10,000 steps goal. I'm loving it so far. I can see why I am so tired every day though, I do not get much deep sleep.

    Does anyone know why MFP adjusts to a low caloric burn based on FitBit info?

    This is a bit concerning so I hope someone has an answer.

    I feel that MFP calorie burned figures are insanely high as it is. Was thinking of getting a Flex to get a more realistic figure.

    I have a Withings Pulse and based on detailed tracking, it underestimates calories burned when my heart rate is elevated, so I use a HRM to track anything where my heart rate is elevated, whether it is walking, lifting, etc
