Treadmill fix question

so i was given this treadmill from a guy that said it doesn't work. I assumed it was because he didn't know he needed the safety key. Well i ordered one and went to use it thinking that would fix it and the result i get is the same as when i didn't have the safety key. I plug it into the wall and it will light up for a split second, about as long as the beep is when it powers up and then shuts off. What could it be?
the treadmill i have is a Nordic Trak C2200

Google - troubleshooting Nordic track c2200. the livestrong.com site came up for me and there were some interesting suggestions and instructions of how to take cover off and try different switches and calibrating for the problem You described. Hope it helps.0

yea i read that article when i searched it up the 1st time. I tried some of the things it said but my problem isn't really mentioned in there. It mainly talks about what to do if the display is wrong. Mine doesn't stay on at all.0

Open the treadmill where you can see the motor. There will be some cables running to the controller. There will be a light there. I think that if that light is blinking, then the controller is faulty.
