Toning and not hungry!

I tried to google this but couldnt find any answers.
I have been taking boot camp for 1 1/2 months now. I love it and my body is getting stronger. I am able to do things i've never done before but my question is I am not hungry at all. I make myself eat but I literally have no appetite. When I was just doing cardio only I was starving.
Is this normal? What does it mean physically?

Workouts can temporarily suppress appetite, which is another benefit of consistently going to the gym. If you wait a little longer after your workout, you will find the hunger will kick you so hard in the face, you will lose teeth0

I've heard people say they lose their appetite after working out. I've never had that issue. I'm always hungry!0

I exercise about 6 days a week for the last 5 yrs. I am new to building muscle and toning though. I was concerned because they say if you dont eat your metabolism slows and make losing weight harder. But then again I am building muscle so it should speed up my metabolism.0

I can't see your diary, so I don't know how much you're eating. If you're eating above your BMR, and you have good energy for your workouts, I'd think you were ok.0

MFP have me set for 1200 calories. But I usually eat around 1300 - 1400 per day. Most times I eat around 200 of my exercise calories not all of my exercise cals. On average my net calories is about 8000

You're not building muscle in a calorie deficit. Building muscle is really, really hard for most people, even men with good genetics, and further requires a surplus of calories. You can build muscle very, very, very, very, very, very, very slowly at a maintenance level of calories....but it's very, very, very, very, very slow. It can't be done in a deficit...from a scientific perspective, you cannot be in a catabolic state and have any anabolic gains...i.e. you can't gain fat and you can't gain muscle if you are in a catabolic state...ie dieting.
You are shedding fat and thus revealing the muscle you have underneath. You probably are also witness some "pump" which is your muscle holding onto water for repair.
In RE to no appetite, my guess would be that you don't eat much and your leptin levels have substantially dropped...the hormone leptin is responsible for sending hunger cues to your brain...when leptin levels drop, appetite is suppressed and you are not hungry. In that RE, my guess would be that you also don't eat much in the way of carbohydrates.0 -

Makes sense. Thanks!0 -
I have noticed that when I work harder on my core, I am not as hungry. I thought it was odd, until I realized the pressure it puts on the stomach, giving it a false feeling of being full with only a glass of water in there. I was back to normal the next day.0

Your NET is 800?! And you get through your workouts ok?0 -
I just have to say how ironic it is you have both a Samoyed and a Shih Tzu...I also did until my Samoyed died last year. That's so awesome!

Wow. I was netting 1,000 for a few months and I felt like I was going to pass out when I worked out. Also, my hair was falling out and I was getting cramps in my legs. The main thing, I guess, is making sure you're getting proper nutrition.0
