Ouch, my sesamoid!

So I've been nursing the sesamoid in my left foot for a few years now. More recently it's gotten considerably worse, in fact it hurts constantly. I'm seeing a podiatrist on December 12th but has anyone had experience with this that could offer suggestions for relief in the meantime?
