Hi =) I'm 26 years old, married with three children. I'm also overweight and need to make some changes. I'm hoping to make small goals for myself in an effort to lose weight and change my life. My weight and lack of healthy decisions regarding both eating and exercising has taken it's toll on me. I'm tired of living this sluggish, tired, unhealthy lifestyle.

I'm willing to encourage those in need, and would love to receive some encouragement myself. Advice, tips, suggestions, and anything else you're willing to share is welcome as well. This is a new journey for me and I could use all the help and support I can get.

Here is what worked for me in a nutshell:

    1. Walk every day. I walk 8.5 km each day with a buddy.

    2. Cut back your portions or count your calories with MFP. I started with the first and ended up with the second. Both dropped weight but MFP got me out of the plateau I was on.

    3. Drink only water, plain tea or coffee. If you drink something that has calories, log it.

    4. I joined a Pilates class and go twice a week.

    5. Have patience. I have been at this for 4 and a half years and I am now almost at my goal. 3.8 pounds to go.

    6. No cheat days but if you happen to go over on a special occasion, log it, forget about it and move on. I never regret a single thing I put in my mouth but I know I need to be reasonable the very next day.

By the way, I am a lot older than you and at an age where a lot of ladies complain they can't lose weight because of age, menopause, metabolism and so on. I don't listen to the naysayers and just keep working at it.

Good luck! You can do it!

I'm almost at goal. My tips to you are-try to eat a variety of proteins, veggies, fruits and healthy fats.
Don't eat too little or you'll be tempted to overeat.
Eat treats within your calorie goal so as not to feel deprived.
    Move your body.
    Drink water!
Eat back 1/2 to all of your exercise calories depending on your hunger.
