Putting happy back in halloween

I've never celebrated Halloween much thanks to having an eating disorder since I was 6...but this year...I started the celebration a day early. Yesterday I ate a halloween cookie unplanned because I wanted it. And tonight...my RD is having me eat 5 pieces of halloween candy. I am a senior in college and haven't eaten any candy on halloween since I was a freshmen in HIGH SCHOOL and it was only a single piece of double bubble. Before that hadn't had anything since I was in 5th grade and up to that time I was restricted to two pieces on halloween while my bro got to eat whatever he wanted. It was because I was a heavy kid and my mom had me on diets....now I was also a binge eater and once I found where she would hide my candy I would have crazy binges. So tonight with these 5 pieces I will actually taste (unlike in my binges when I never tasted them)...I am putting the happy back in halloween. This is only my 2nd week in recovery from my eating disorder, I have gained more weight than I was comfortable with, and yet I am continuing to fight. It is not at all me, it's my God, my team, and the support of my MFP friends that gets me through. Love you all. And I will post a link to my blog later where I will recount this amazing holiday

Thanks everyone. It was amazing...even more amazing was fact I ended up LOSING weight (okay it was only .2 lbs but still) despite eating the 5 pieces of extra candy. It was close to 300 calories extra and yet I didn't gain. MAJOR VICTORY!0

Yay for you!!! And please, what kind of candy were you savoring??? (I'm jealous) :-)0

I had a snickers, twix, halloween lollipop, salt water taffy candy corn flavor, and skittles dark side. It was close to 300 extra calories and I also had a banana that night too which is another freedom food of mine! Ate my full meal plan and all that and lost .2 lbs the next day!0
