is there a better time?

Wondering if there is a better time of day to do your workouts? I usually do them in the evenings, sometimes right after work and sometimes after dinner. I know I've heard that working out first thing in the morning is a great way to rev up your metabolism, but I've been struggling to get out of bed in the mornings lately (been sick with a terrible cough that keeps me up during the night). I used to be a morning person but am sadly losing that part of me. Just wondering if it'd be worth getting up that extra hour earlier to get in the workout in the morning rather than the evenings seeing as I don't always have the time after work to hit the gym.

The best time of day to do a work out is when you will do it.
So, if you seem to always be busy after work (at night) with family and such, get up early and get it done. If you seem to have time at night, do it then. If neither is an option, workout during your lunch break.0 -
the best time to workout is whatever time you are at your best and whatever time you can put 110% into your routine and crush the **** out of it.0

I worried about this at first, too. I had heard about morning workouts, etc., but I'd always find myself at the gym at 10 or 11 pm. I've stopped worrying about it. Am I tired that late? Yes. Does that mean I might not have the stamina? Maybe. But it's what works for me.0

Also, don't buy into that bunk of "revving up the metabolism" by working out in the morning. That is not true. In fact, when I do overstrenuous workouts in the morning, I sometimes feel cold, groggy, and tired (note I do workout in the morning--I just try to take in some carbs and protein prior and this helps).
As others have said, the best time is the time you find it best.0
