Hi, I am carrying quite a bit of weight around my tummy and find it difficult to do crunches or sit ups. I get quite embarrased trying to do these at the gym so wanted to do something to help at home. I have seen this total core abs machine advertised and wondered if anyone else has tried it or would/wouldn't recommend it?
Thanks

Ab and core workouts are great for toning the muscles hiding underneath the fat, but without cardio and fat reduction, you won't see results until you uncover the muscle. There is no way to spot reduce (sadly). With that said, no reason to buy a machine ~ start out with plank exercises to help your core and work on reducing overall body fat. Also, check to see if your gym has a roman chair. I find that great for abs when I don't feel like doing crunches!0

Don't bother. You don't need to waste any time doing an exercises anyway. Right now you need to concentrate on ramping up your cardiac and strength routines. Do some upper body strength exercises with dumbbells or free weights in a standing position, do these with good form in a nice athletic stance, and you'll get all the an work you need.0
