Running and back pain

I have been a runner my whole life. Not fast and not the best by any means, but just run for stress relief and fun basically. I took most the summer off because of vacations and lazyiness to be honest
So now, I'm starting to run again. For me to be starting back up, 2 to 3 miles is about perfect for now, but this last week, I have been getting about .5 miles into my run and having pain in my lower right side of my back and ending up having to stop because the pain is so bad... Let me tell you something about myself, I NEVER WALK!!! I know my limits and how far I can usually run and will run within that range. This was HORRIBLE pain for me to have to stop:frown:
So I decided it was my kidneys and maybe dehydration and took a day off. I ran again this morning, and same pain in the same place at about .5 miles into it. So I pushed myself slowly another couple blocks thinking I could run it off. I pushed it untill the pain felt like it was burning into my leg and I finally walked again. It is definitely some sort of muscle pain, but I can't figure out why. I stretch tons every day too.
Something about myself too, I have scholiosis and the curvature is in my lower back, but I have had that my whole life, and like I said, ran my whole life it's never bothered me.
I'm also doing insanity everyday, but have no pain while doing insanity... why when I run???
And I do have a good handful of love handles and back fat....:grumble:
Any advice, comments, or similar situations??

When I had something similar at the beginning of this year, it turned out it was a prolapsed disc (slipped), the jelly centre of the disc was leaking and touching the sciatic nerve, this caused a pain down my leg. I too, tried to push through it but it was too painful. The final result was excrutiating pain, followed by anti-inflamatory drugs, painkillers and icepacks on the bottom of my back, three weeks off work and regular visits to the Chiropractor.
I don't want to be a ray of sunshine (not) but do not play with your back, immediately see your doctor and take his/her advice. If it is disc trouble, it can be rectified and you will be able to run again. If it is disc trouble and you ignore it, you will be causing a lot of damage.
Having said all that, it may not be disc problems at all, but something completely different. Do visit your doctor and then hopefully you will be back in full force and in good physical condition as soon as possible xxx :flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for the info... I will be calling my doctor and making chiropractor appointments! Better to be safe than sorry, although I hope it isn't anything like that. :indifferent:0
