Would someone please fix the email notification system

Sorry for the rant, but this thing is driving me nuts. Can someone from MFP tech support \PLEASE fix the email notification. I keep getting emails when someone posts a reply to something on my newsfeed but no messages. And when someone posts after them I get the new notification and all the ones before it.
