Strength training

Hey,
I'm new to MFP and really out of shape so I'm easing myself gradually into exercise! At the moment I'm doing 30mins of cardio 5 days a week. (15mins cycling and 15mins aerobics) but I'm reading how important strength training is. I've looked up strength training videos on youtube - how often should I be doing it? Can anyone suggest a beginners routine? Thanks for any advice! :)
