**POLL** Thanksgiving Menu--What's on yours?

Here are the questions...

1) Will you be eating what you want (within reason or maybe not) or do you plan to avoid certain foods?

2) What will YOU personally be making?

3) What food made by someone else are you most looking forward to (i.e. grandma's baked mac and cheese or Auntie Sue's pumpkin pie)?

4) What do you expect to be on your Thanksgiving-day plate?

5) If avoiding certain foods, what are you avoiding?

6) Most LOVED Thanksgiving day food?

7) Most HATED Thanksgiving day food?

My family lives too far away, but my boyfriend's family might give us (unwanted) food, but I'm going to go ahead and be honest.. And say that I will not be touching it this year. I'm just going to continue as if it was any other day, counting my calories and waiting for eggnog for Christmas. Yes, I will drink nothing but eggnog for a day for Christmas, been looking forward to it.. I WANT eggnog.. SO badly. It is my holiday weakness.

Here are the questions... 1) Will you be eating what you want (within reason or maybe not) or do you plan to avoid certain foods?

Of course I'll be eating what I want. Can't imagine working through the tableau any other way. That's just wrong ~ for me.
    2) What will YOU personally be making?

As yet, I haven't quite settled on what I'll opt to make. Still too early. I plan, replan for friends who'll be making it to the table have restrictions (Religious observations/Strict health-relatied dietary restrictions). I haven't even settled on a theme (to establish the final draft of which featured cuisine combinations should make it to the year's table which'll actually complement each other beautifully). Haven't checked the weather forecast, my mood 2 weeks prior lol and my schedule leading up to the event. *Hosting this year*

Musts from me for starters: Pavlova to go with seasonal berries and our traditional delicious puddings variety. Simply is unimaginable to not have these on the dessert table, much like our seaweed salads amongst our normative salad varieties. It's also traditional that the menu has game meat (land/bird/sea) and stuffed whole dishes galore eg stuffed piglet/lamb/fish/bird, vegetable sides, etc. Of each, I can not just prepare and present one, it has to be one (eg lamb) prepped 3 different ways (all stuffed) for good luck, is the superstition.
    3) What food made by someone else are you most looking forward to (i.e. grandma's baked mac and cheese or Auntie Sue's pumpkin pie)?

My sister's pashka to go with her vanilla pizzelles. Yum.
    4) What do you expect to be on your Thanksgiving-day plate?

Everything, only a course at a time. I enjoy sampling all tabled dishes, then I'll repeat 'til I'm done, leisurely.
    5) If avoiding certain foods, what are you avoiding?

    N/A
    6) Most LOVED Thanksgiving day food?

Squash every which way ~ the savory varieties. Yum.
    7) Most HATED Thanksgiving day food?

Depends. *Awful salads, sides and desserts usually, just like the stuffing*

ETA: Expand on first sentence ~ eating all I want. Left that open-ended.

    Here are the questions...

    1) Will you be eating what you want (within reason or maybe not) or do you plan to avoid certain foods? Yes.

    2) What will YOU personally be making? Everything. I might actually do a traditional turkey dinner with cranberry sauce and yams, etc...for...one. Probably get one of those pre-packaged, pre-seasoned packs of turkey breast.

    3) What food made by someone else are you most looking forward to (i.e. grandma's baked mac and cheese or Auntie Sue's pumpkin pie)? None. There is no family Thanksgiving now that the grandparents are gone.

    4) What do you expect to be on your Thanksgiving-day plate? Turkey, yams, cranberry sauce, oh, and green bean casserole.

    5) If avoiding certain foods, what are you avoiding? None.

    6) Most LOVED Thanksgiving day food? fried turkey, made by Daddy. Damn, that sucks....I miss Daddy. If there is a Heaven, I hope he's happy.

    7) Most HATED Thanksgiving day food? cranberry sauce mixed with katsup. (I swear I never did it on purpose, but the katsup on the plate never failed to ooze into the cranberry sauce somehow no matter my best intentions)
