Really bad few days :|

I've been doing so well , exercising lots and eating well. However these last few days I've eaten like a pig and done no exercise . I've un-done all my good work and now I don't kknow what to do :( My motivation has completely disappeared I feel terrible. I just feel like i'm never going to be at my goal weight so there is no point even trying. Sorry for the rant, I don't even know what the aim of this is, im just so mad at myself!!

Exercising does a lot more for your body than just give you extra calories. There are a host of health benefits. There's no way all of those went away in 2 days.

In fact, I would be surprised if you gained more than 4 pounds in 2 days. That's just a ton of eating. So, you really haven't undone all your good work. You've only gained a few pounds.

A couple weeks, and you'll have corrected that, plus gotten healthier :)

Please don't think that! When you eat and exercise well most of the time, you leave yourself room to have some bad days here and there. You absolutely haven't un-done all your hard work! It's good to vent, it gets all those bottled up feelings out but it's time to dust yourself off now and get back to it. You can do this!
  • It's okay. If you give up now, then you'll just be delaying your progress. So you had a few bad days. It's okay. Tomorrow is a new day and you can definitely do this. If you keep eating less than you burn, you're definitely going to make it. It's science. Good luck!

Think about this as real life, with the holidays coming up that are so focused on eating there will be times when we just don't do right - but it really is okay! Don't give into to it, get rid of the junk food and go for a walk, even it it's just around the block. This helps me to regroup when I get a little crazy. Just doing something even small can help get things back on track.

Even while we are in this process we are going to have times when things just go arwry. Don't concentrate right now on the day to day, look towards the week, sort of make up for it . . . and stay off the scale!

    Don't give up!

The main point here is...Don't Give Up!

I've had a few really crap days over the past couple of weeks and have felt like "what's the point?" myself, but what you have to realize is that the work you have done up until this point is not all for nothing! You had a few bad days..big deal, pick up and start again!

If you need to, start slow to get your body back into the groove of things...the main thing is..DO IT :) Take a walk around the block..do some jumping jacks..dance around your living room like nobody's watching!

It's hard, I know. Grabbing crap food and laying on the couch is sooooo much easier than putting on your workout clothes and making yourself sweat, but the physical, mental and emotional fulfillment is so sweet when you've accomplished a workout, it makes it worthwhile!

We're all here to get support and motivation, so we'll be here to prod you along when you need it!!

I know you're upset but that was in the past. All you can do now is try harder for the future =] Whatever you do, don't give up!
  • Thank-you so much everyone for all your replies and support :) I'm determined to get right back into it! I'm dreading weighing myself tomorrow, although seeing the numbers go up might be the help I need not to be a greedy pig again lol! x

Your attitude will change soon, just keep plugging along until you get your mojo back. Even if you aren't feeling it, go through the motions until you can get your motivation back and feel like exercising and eating healthy again.

I generally get a F&%k it attitude near TOM every month. I've also noticed that I eat a lot more then, as well. It could just a natural hormonal change, and your body will adjust in a few days.

Don't give up !! Every day you log all your food is a step toward your goal. So if you missed a couple days, now you can get back onto the program. Each of us has to begin where we actually are in weight, so commencing from today, you can move forward. Every single person has ups and downs. We all do. Most of us just are too embarrassed to admit that some weeks we gain a few, then have to lose them all over again. That's life in the big city. Just posting your comment shows that you have not given up.
