Pacing myself

OK, I don't always log all my exercise, I just forget, but it seems that I am busting my booty and only loosing 1-2 lbs every 2 weeks. So I am going to take some advice from one of my friends who is loosing 2-3 lbs in 1.5 to 2 weeks.
She is pacing herself. Stopped worring and freeting over it and actually slowing down on the exercise.
She walks, plays in the yard with her kids and she eats all day.
She eats tons of veggies with low cal diups, raw fruits with yogurt and yes, loosing big time.
But she told me this, as soon as she stopped worring about her weight, was when she really started loosing. The more the worry, the more the dissapointment and the moore the stress.....
OK, I'm on it now.
Today is the first day I have not said or thought, "OH man, I just hjave to loose weight by this date, I just have to get to my goal".
I know it will happen......

I'm trying to do that...I haven't weighed in a week and a half, and I'm just logging all my food and exercise. I figure I'll just weigh one time a month, and pay attention to the way my clothes are fitting as a way to gauge my progress.0

Ahh 1 lb a week is a pretty darn good rate! I wouldn't at all be dissapointed with that, think of it this way, 1 lb a week is 52 lbs a year. If it took you say (just guessing) 3 years to put on 50 lbs, only taking 1 year to get it off is pretty remarkable don't you think? I say GREAT job, keep at this pace! If you lose to fast your body compensates eventually, if you take it off slowly and evenly your body has time to adjust and tighten up so you don't look thin and flabby when you are at your goal.0

So true Banks!! I lost weight at a rapid pace a few years ago, and my skin didn't have time to adjust and spring back, so I looked horridly flabby. This 1lb. a week goal is really working for me!0 -
I lost a hundred pounds in less than a year (about seven months actually) a few years back... my skin is still loose and saggy and may never bounce back even though I am still fairly young... I also gained the weight back over the next couple years so loosing weight fast is not the answer...I now have a goal of 2lbs per week... I think this is a healthy goal that I can stick with and it should give my body time to adjust... also it helps that I am trying not to stress it as much as I did before... I have been fat for years now... I can survive another day... I am working hard towards my goal but I am ok with where I am now...
Hope this helps
