Chinese takeaway?

Ok, so I possibly face a huge challenge today... My mom wants to order Chinese for tea? I want to challenge myself and just eat whatever/as much as I want. Should I go for it?

Since April I placed myself on a stupidly restrictive diet (i.e.around 500 cals) and I've got down from 75kg to 52kg (I'm 5ft5) I have, however, now upped my calories because clearly I was not eating enough! So now I've been eating roughly 1250, and I feel like I no longer want to lose weight. I'm happy with my body :) obviously to just let go completely tonight will serve as a huge challenge because I'm still very strict as to weighing out food and counting every last calorie. However, we all deserve a treat once in a while don't we? The takeaway will not only be unknown calories but it's so easy to eat 3000+ calories without even realising it! Will it hurt as a one off? I shall expect a gain from it, but I suppose I'll have to deal with that when it happens!

I would just log it as best as possible and keep going. I would not stress over it though.

I have plenty of days i go over but i still log for my own record.

1250 is still a low number, and yes an occasional blow out meal is fine. We still have lives to enjoy. 3500 calories above maintenance makes a pound, so if you eat 3000 it won't even be half a pound gain. The salt in chinese food may bloat you and give you a temporary larger gain, but it'll go away.

Have fun! Eat chow mein for me! Mmmm chow mein. I may make some for dinner, tonight. :) thanks for the idea!

Go for it. Enjoy it. Don't eat more than you want just for the sake of it, but eat as much as you want. Expect a gain, maybe even of several pounds. If you've not been eating very much then there will be the simple fact of more food/waste in your system showing up on the scale. Plus, you'll possibly have more carbs than usual, which will make you retain water. Also, Chinese takeaway food is notoriously high in sodium, which will make you retain water. So, if it's going to make you freak out to see a big gain, stay off the scale for a few days afterwards.

    Just enjoy yourself.
