I have been told that I need to lower my cholesterol and sugars so I have been given meds and told to watch my carbs. Suggestions would be helpful. I would like to lose about 70 pounds at a rate of about .5 - 1 lb a week. I want to do it in a way that I can maintain forever.
Who has good low carb tricks for someone who loves potatos and bread, chips, chocolate, etc!
Any help is appreciated. Have dieted all my life but need to make this one work.

Hi there! Here are some alternatives to those that I like:
-Substituting bread with thin grilled portobello caps (!!), lettuce wraps or low-carb flatbread, stuffing bell peppers or some other stuff-able veggie with sandwich fillings
-Substituting pasta with zucchini or carrot noodles (sliced with a spiral veggie slicer)
-Substituting potato chips with kale chips or some other thinly sliced, seasoned baked/dehydrated veggie.
-Substituting mashed potatoes with mashed cauliflower (I haven't actually tried this myself, but I've heard it still tastes really good!)0
