Did or does anyone else find the "middle" stage awkward?

I'm almost halfway to my goal weight and I am super excited about it. I can't remember a time I was in this fit and I'm learning so much more about food. Especially portion sizes. I'm trying my best to focus on those good points and I would still consider myself to be in a positive state. But does anyone else feel a bit strange in the middle? I'm not big enough to fit into my old clothes. Which is a great thing, but I also don't want (or can afford) to spend the money on new clothes if they're going to be too big for me in a few months. I bought a few things to tide me over, but it seems like clothes fit me worse now than when I was thinner and when I was bigger! Even my face looks a bit strange at this weight. I've been losing weight in areas like my upper cheeks by my eyes and my shoulder area and there's still a bit of "fluff" in my jawline and shoulders. Same thing in my body. I lose it around my front tummy and inner thighs, but not my upper back and knees. Weird body! If only spot reducing was possible! I know that this is only temporary and the thrill of not only meeting my goal but also being healthier and more in control of my life is worth it. But still, it'd be nice to hear from anyone else who may have gone through this awkward stage of weight loss and your experiences with it. It's not getting me too down, but it'd be nice to know I'm not the only one!

I'm also losing weight in places I'd rather not. Hope the rest of it comes from the bulges.0

I look a bit odd to me at the moment, lol. My biggest problem areas have not moved much at all yet, but everything else is losing inches. So naturally my problem areas look more out of proportion than usual!
Meh, I look at the other parts It's cool to see them get smaller, anyway0 -
Yeah the inbetween stage is awkward. I've recently lost 12lbs and it seems like almost all of it has come off my back and hips but not my stomach. My saving grace is that it's now winter weather so I can hide under hoodies or coats until it's worth buying new smaller clothes.
If in doubt, listen to the Rocky themetune.0 -
I'm losing weight in odd places too. My bones are visible through my chest and my spine as well, but the hips and inner thighs are hanging on for dear life.
It'll all work out eventually.0 -
As of this morning, I've lost 40 pounds! And I look weird. Luckily most of the weird is invisible when I am dressed, but I do hope it all evens out soon. As someone else said, the good news is that it is fall now and getting cold here, so I can just layer up till my body makes some sense again.
My arms and legs look great though! I'm even starting to see muscle definition in my upper arms for the first time since high school. It's too bad my middle is lagging. Also, my hips are clearly beginning to shrink, it in an odd way that makes them seem kind of slab-like. I expect that the next 10-5 pounds, which will bring me back to a normal BMI, will be a period of normalizing my shape. Or, I suppose, I will take that time to get used to it and maybe invest in some shaping undergarments.0 -
Since I have lost weight my tummy looks bigger than it did before! I guess before I was a bit of a blob and now having a waist back and smaller hips makes my tummy appear much bigger! Which kinda sucks I know I will just have to keep working at it in order to make my tummy shrink!0

I was thinking the same thing today ! I had to buy a swim suit because we are going to the hot springs this weekend . OMG ya'll my thighs - they have this big fat area that's just unbelievable ! it's like these big fat man sized fist size balls between my legs .WTH ?
I hate this stage but I love that my tummy has gotten smaller ....I just feel like every one will laugh when they see my fat fist thighs lol there are no swimsuits my size with the skirts at this time of the year . Anyway I'm going to wear it and be proud to wear a 14 because my old one is a 240
