MFP's Sodium Intake Goal Too High

For my weight loss goal, MFP has my calories set at 1200 and my sodium at 2500. Does anyone else think this is a wee bit high? I easily surpassed this yesterday, however I'm not sure I agree with this goal from a healthy side. Anyone else have thoughts?

It's not a goal, it's a limit. You don't have to hit that target.

I'm not sure if I understand you, but it sounds like you're looking at 2500 as a minimum? It's not a goal you're aiming to go over. It's a ceiling. (Some people disagree that it's a ceiling that healthy people with normal blood pressure need to worry about, but that's a different story.)

I'm not looking at it as a goal. I'm just talking about how MFP sets it at that. I just feel it may be a bit high. The American Heart Association recommends limiting it to 1500 per day.

There is a lot of debate about this right now. Many countries set the limit at 1500 mg/day.
Some researchers think the potassium:sodium ratio is more important and should be about 2:1
Set your limit at 1500 if you want.
