Hi, i'm new to the site and excited to finally get fit and lose the fat! I've dieted before but i'm come to realise that with me, exercise is even more important - the slimmest i've ever been is when I worked at a riding school, spending hours every day either riding horses or mucking out stables, despite eating rubbish for lunch like pot noodles and chocolate.
So, today i've decided to get serious with my exercise whilst keeping track of my calories with the mobile app, and making healthy food choices wherever possible. My diary should be open..in the past week i've gone over my calorie allowance, done no exercise, and fallen foul of those divine little lindor truffle balls (seriously the best thing in the world, damn them!).
This morning I took part in a sponsored bike ride for charity - completely unfit and haven't ridden a bike for at least a year, but I hired a lovely hybrid bike and cycled 12 miles in 1 hr 20 mins roughly, really pushed myself up those hills and it killed me at times, but I loved it!
Here's to a healthier way of life, i've spent the last 27 years being lazy and eating rubbish (apart from my beloved horse riding and the odd stint where I did actually go to the gym regularly), and as the old saying goes: "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got". I want to lose about 2 stone (28 pounds) and get fit! I'm also planning to quit smoking, it hit home on my bike ride today how much if affects me
So..here goes nothing!
