NSV

I have had two NSV recently. One, I had someone at work ask me if I lose weight. It was nice to have someone notice the difference. Two I was getting ready to go to the gym and only had the "tight workout pants" that were still clean. So I pulled them on and figured I could just look like a fatty BUT THEY FIT!!! No muffin top!

Great successes!
I just had one myself. The instructor of a couple of exercise classes I take every week saw me taking off my top in the locker room the other day and made a great comment to me. She said wow! you've got great abs ;-)0 -
Way to go and congratulations!0

I love hearing about everyone's NSVs. They keep me going on low days.
So here's mine.
I went shopping to try (for the 5th time) to find a pair of jeans that fit without being stretchy skin-tight, worn-out looking, and low-waisted. I'm an older gal, I just want plain old jeans. The gal in the Levi store called me "kinda small" and sent me in the dressing room with a size 29x32 that actually fit!! I haven't worn that size since the 70's I think. Can I tell you how pleased I was!?! I didn't buy the jeans because like everything else I've tried on they are too low-waisted and worn-looking. But I still got a warm-fuzzy from the effort even though I still don't have a new pair of jeans yet.0 -
lisabinco, try NYDJ-Not Your Daughter's Jeans. Love them.0

Great NSVs, everyone! I had one today, too. My FIL hasn't seen me in a few weeks and today he asked if I had lost weight. The best part? I was in a hoodie and loose jeans! Even with that on it was noticeable that my body is changing for the better.0

great job. I thought I wouldn't like the compression capri pants for running/working out but I love them. They are like a second skin and feel great.
I had a few this week
1. I was able to buy a size 8 jean as well this past week. I have been in size 8 khaki's but not jeans.
2. people who used to know me bigger don't even recognize me now that I have lost 73 pounds.0 -
I visited my bf this weekend and DIDN'T use it as an excuse to splurge. That's a big NSV for me!0

congratulations to all the above comments. that's so cool!
Today I cleaned out my closet and put in a goodwill pile the jeans that were my favourite jeans for a year.... I don't even want to have them around, or take them to a tailor so OUT THEY GO. :happy:0 -

I can't wait until I get to do this!!0 -
I'm just starting to see the glory in NSV's!
1. I ran for 5 miles for the first time in my life... and only walked for 4 minutes out of the whole thing!
2. I took my measurements and in two weeks I've lost a combined 6.5 inches
3. A skirt that I wore two months ago that was skin tight is loose on me right now!0 -
Bumping this b.c I need jeans that fit !0

It's a great feeling to finally let go of your big-girl clothes! I have finally given ALL my big size 16-10 clothes away and now all I own are sizes 8 and 6. So if I gain now, I won't have anything to wear LOL! That thought works well for me.
I saw those NYDJ in one store, but I have never tried them. They look too curvy for me. Alas, I am not curvy at all: flat rear, smallish hips, thick-ish waist. Hard to fit. In my teens and 20s I wore guy jeans cuz they fit best.
But I will give them a try, since I am still on the hunt! Thanks!0 -
Had an amiable debate with a couple of co-workers. They think I should stop losing weight, that I look 'perfect'. Great to hear, but I've still got some pudge strategically hidden by my clothes that I'm going to try to lose
Found a pair of used-to-be-expensive designer jeans on the sale rack, marked down to $50 bucks - they were the only pair left, a size 2. Miraculously, they fit. At the moment I seem to be a 2/4 depending, so it was a real toss-up.
Also have a couple of grocery bags in my closet full of too big clothing to be donated. Some pretty nice stuff, actually. Some completely unworn because I'd bought it at last winter sales at my heaviest, and never got a chance to wear it. It would literally fall off of me now. I'm glad it'll make someone out there happy with a nice score.0
