Hey anyone tried using books as weights? I can't afford to invest in weights right now.. and I know many people use can of beans of water bottles but somehow all my bottles leak!!!! and I dont really have can of beans in house (being an indian my diet is different).. So, I was doing the 30DS with books as weights.. 2 pretty fat books..

So, I was wondering, anyone tried this before?

Well, instead of putting water in your bottles you can do sand. (I admit to having done this).

Books wouldn't be very heavy :( Do you have a couple of old bricks? Not very heavy either, but probably heavier than books.

Have you tried looking a yard sales and thrift stores like Goodwill and the Salvation Army? A lot of people buy weights and other exercise stuff, never use it, and give it away. Also Google to see if Freecyle.com is in your area. That's a website where people give stuff away that they don't want instead of throwing it away.

Editing my post... looks like you're in India. Freeycle is active in Bangalore:

Sand in a water bottle sounds like a great idea.

craigslist is in India, too, and in your area.

They have a free section, too. People sometimes list exercise equipment to give away or sell (look under sporting).
