well yesterday was a not bad day. i woke up feeling well, and being the morning person i am, went to work bright eyed and busy tailed. on fridays i usually go to a local cafe for a breakfast bagle with bacon and cheese, a lage muffin and an apple juice, but yesterday i knew i would be having a big lunch and a big dinner, so i had oatmeal and a banana from home instead. i had 3 girl guide cookies, and felt a little bit of guilt, but they were eaten in a social setting and i shared the rest of my box with others, so i am trying to make leaps there. here have a cookie, so you don't care that i'm having a cookie. i had almonds and carrots for snack and then went to the keg for lunch. i had a bacon cheesebuger and savoured every bite of it, and honestly felt no guilt about eating it. i ate it very consciouly and loved it. it was not just stuffed into my face, which is what normally happened. i also had a side of fries, which were good for the first few fries, but next time if i have the cheese burger i'll have a tossed salad, or if i want fries i'll have the grilled chicken burger without cheese. in the end it felt a bit too indulgent. for afternoon snack i had a fresh orange, and for supper i had a steak, rice and gravy. usually i have that on saturday, which i used to condiser my cheat day. however, because i am trying to be more social and hang out with the girls outside of work i am invariably going to go for lunch every friday, so i should make friday my cheat day. all the badness out in one day.
so i had all of these plans for what i was going to do today... go swimming, walk to the pool etc. but guess what? i'm snowed in lol. april 19th on vancouver island and there is 2 feet of snow outside. i went grocery shopping yesterday night, so i have yummy healthy things in the house, so i dont think that will be a problem, other than the boredom factor of not being able to leave the house.
so for today:
breakfast:
1 cup oatmeal
1 banana
snack:
1 yogurt
mini carrots
1 apple sauce (unsweetened)
lunch:
tossed salad
1 veggie burger on w/w bun with lettuce tomato and avocado
snack:
1 orange
22 almonds
supper:
bbq chicken
mashed potaoes
steamed broccoli
snack:
1 cup milk
main goal today is to not eat of out boredom and to try and avoid the bermuda triangle of fast food. (i live in the middle of DQ, Mcdonalds and Wendy's and there is a convenience store right on the corner lol)
here's to a snowy saturday.

Awww, you poor girl...snow....yuck, ours finally all melted a couple weeks ago in Ontario. I think it's a great idea to have your cheat day with the girls, so you don't feel left out! Sounds like your getting stronger every day as far as eating is concerned, your doing great, and keep it up!
I used to love takeout, so when I decided to change my lifestyle I used baby steps, like 1st I would stop large sizing everything, then I would eat out once every couple weeks instead of every week, then I would stop with the desserts, just small steps. After doing this you'll start feeling crappy from all the grease and you might find that you don't like how you feel after you eat take out.
I still enjoy takeout once in awhile, but it's a treat now, and I am finding that the less and less I eat there the more crappy I feel when I do eat at Burger King or Macdonalds, so the more I want to eat better!0
