Planks giving me dry chapped elbows?

Options
Does anyone else experience this? I have noticed my elbows are really rough and dry since adding planks to my core work. :( Any advise? I use Vaseline and try to exfoliate them. TIA!

You can start doing high plank up on your hands. Just make sure your chest is between your arms, not your head :)

I usually do side planks on my elbows, but I use a mat or fold up a towel to put under my elbow. They can be done on your hand, it will be a bigger challenge since you have a smaller base.

    Use a soft towel.

i get that on my elbows and knees if I work out on carpeting. try a yoga mat, or a long sleeved or 3/4 sleeved cotton top, and they also make elbow gaurds if those suggestions don't work. exfoliate your elbows in the shower and apply a good moisturizing lotion afterwards, that should solve the problem.

    aquaphor!

This. It's made by Eucerin, and it's a lot like Vaseline in texture. I use tons of this stuff on my hands (calluses from lifting/kettlebells), especially in the winter, when regular lotion just doesn't cut it.

Thanks everyone! I do use a mat and put my towel down. My gym towels aren't necessarily soft though. I will get some Aquaphor! :)
