Starting Crossfit- help?

Hi,
I took a trial class a few weeks back and I LOVED it, and have just signed up for Foundations at my local box.
For those of you who do Crossfit, what are your favorite things about it?
I am really nervous as I know my fitness level is mediocre and I get easily embarrassed. I want to do this, and I want to get fit, I'm just scared of not being that good at it.
Personal experiences to calm my nerves are very much appreciated.
Thanks

I do crossfit and was the same as you. I was scared I couldn't keep up with everyone else and would be last at doing it. I talked to the instructor about it and they scaled my workout to suit me. Instead of pull-ups on the bar, I lowered myself down from the bar slowly. Now I have been doing it for 5 months and my fitness level is so much better. Enjoy.0

in my experience, crossfitters will encourage you along and cheer you on. they will help you press on when all you want to do is give up. Give it a couple weeks and be amazed at the changes you see in your abilities!
Have fun!!!0 -

The main thing that I like about crossfit is that you are motivated by everyone around you, they cheer you on. People are very helpful and friendly. When I first began I was way behind most people. I wouldn't finish the workouts due to time running out. But over time slowly and steadily you will catch up. Once you start seeing the changes in your body and energy levels you will automatically be motivated to go back to the box. Don't worry about being behind everyone else, the main thing about crossfit or about any workout is once your done with they workout do you feel you gave it your best. If you gave it your best then you have nothing to worry about.0
