Using Whey Protein as Meal Replacements.

First post.
I don't lead a really busy lifestyle at the moment but I still like the convenience of having shakes as meal replacements.
I'm not good at putting meals together, so for me to have a shake and know the exact amount of calories i'm consuming is better for me.
I have about 2-3 stone to lose, been trying to lose it for a while now (my weight always goes up and down, it has done for 10 years. But this time i'm finding it really hard to lose the weight)
I've looked into Herbalife but not liking the bad reciews i've read on the products, although I like the actual diet plan.
I was thinking of having 3 protein shakes a day and mixing some peanut butter in, snack on fruits, nuts etc. then have a normal, balanced dinner.
Does this sound okay for weight loss?
Thank you.

I have only heard of whey protein as a supplement, not a replacement. I just started using whey protein to help me hit my macros...I never could hit my protein if I don't.
I am sure if you measured out and concocted something with the nutrients that you would need in a meal, you could use it that way. As for the herbalife, I have no clue, seems like a gimmick to me and not something I could do for life.
That plan you mentioned may work, but since it would be temporary, that weight would most likely return.0 -
It's probably not the best plan but bottom line It'll work, in the short term anyway. Get a better protein powder like optimum nutrition's gold standard whey.
You should have a plan when it's time to go on maintenance or it's likely your weight will creep back up.0 -
Nothing wrong with taking whey protein shakes, it's just protein... As long as you don't "JUST" rely on shakes and still eat regular foods you are fine.0

Sounds kind of monotonous.
That said, I have a protein shake every morning for breakfast. 1 scoop protein, I heaping spoonful of full fat plain Greek yogurt (for texture), 1 cup of 1% milk, and as much frozen fruit as I can fit into the blender cup. Comes in around 350 cals and keeps me mostly satisfied for about 4 hours.0
