I lost almost 9lbs in 1 week!

I just started using FitnessPal and made myself stay away from the scales for the first week. I'm very proud to have honestly stuck to it with 0 lapses and I've lost 9lbs in 1 week!! But that seems a bit extreme ... have others had big loses in there first week ... what happened after that?

    Very common. 90% of that was probably water. With little weight to lose, you should be aiming for 1/2 to 1 lb per week max. Otherwise, if your goal is too aggressive you risk the chances of increased muscle loss. I would also make sure you adjust macros to around 40% carbs 30% protein and fats. Also, lifting/resistance training will increase muscle retention. And since muscle is tight and lean, the more you have, the more lean you will be.
